Gugulethu Sophia Mbatha, also known as Gugu Mbatha-Raw, is one of the well-known British stage and film actress who gained popularity when she appeared in the 'Doctor Who' (a British science-fiction TV show) series aired on the BBC channel. Her mother was the daughter of a German Immigrant, who immigrated to her home in United States in 1958. After 10 years of fight against breast cancer, she passed away in 1989. Handler was born into a Reform Judaism family. Her father was Jewish. Handler resided in a beautiful community with a wonderful upbringing. At the age of 19 and moved from the city of her birth to Los Angeles to pursue her acting profession. In order to support herself, Handler began to work as an actor. Handler, who was then 21, decided to focus on stand-up comics full time following her discovery of storytelling. Handler started her career by joining the all-female Oxygen cast, which featured in a tv show named Girls Behaving Badly. The series was famous for its secret camera and humorous jokes. The series ran from 2002 until 2005. The handler began to appear on various other programs, including Weekends at D.L., The Bernie Mac Show, The Practice and My Wife and Kids. Handler has also worked as the correspondent of The Tonight Show. Handler made her breakthrough in 2006, as she took over hosting of E! It was titled The Chelsea Handler Show. The Chelsea Handler show ran for two years. Handler was a performer at the Comedy Central Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour on American soil in the following year. Stand-up comedy performances from Handler have been aired on VH1, Comedy Central's Premium Blend and HBO. In 2010, it was announced that she would host the MTV Video Music Awards 2010. As a result, she was the only female host in history following Roseanne.
